Beversbrook Ln, Calne SN11 9FL, UK – 01249 814191
Good facility originally built by the builders who built the adjoining houses. Surprisingly large site for football, 5 aside and cricket, also the home of Calne tennis club. Large indoor halls are used for keep fit and yoga, as well as functioning as meeting rooms and community cinema. Small bar area provides tea and coffee.
This is a very well kept sports centre. It isn't a work out gym it's a proper sports centre with football pitches ect. They have just extended the car park which is free

If you liked Faulty Towers this is the place for you. Comfortable with good food. Warm welcome.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay although it may not be to everyone's taste. If you want character and history, this is the place. Excellent restaurant with well cooked and presented dishes. Best baked camembert I've had to date and sirloin steak that's actually medium rare, as requested. Very nice full English breakfast. Good selection of local ales and various lagers etc. Staff are friendly and cheerful, the place exudes character. Loved it and will revisit. Local area is very picturesque with a host of places to visit. Something for everyone.

Quality of food was great, if a little on the pricey side (meals of similar quality to be had for less in the area in similarly quaint surroundings). The recent renovations have opened up the place and give it a very airy feel. My main concern is the lack of proactivity in service. On arriving for lunch as a walk in we were informed they couldn't take walk-ins and we needed to have booked, she then walked away. All but two tables were empty. Only one marked as reserved. I pulled out my phone and booked online and returned shortly after to four tables occupied. If instead a small explanation was offered (you could even lie) "we're short staffed", "we have a large booking", then offer to take a reservation and point the way to the bar, you'd have a happier customer who might well spend more money and be more likely to come back and recommend the place. It'd taken a minute and changed the experience and would improve the bottom line.
Good selection of St Austell beers with the usual suspects. Lovely outdoor area by a country road. Perfect when the sun's out.
